Year 8 – Options Event – Thursday 26th January 2023
At Netherhall Learning Campus we understand that choosing options can be a stressful and confusing time. The support of parents and carers is an integral part of the options process and with this in mind, we have organised an Options Event in school on Thursday 26th January 2023. The event will begin at 4:00pm and run until 6:30pm. It will provide an opportunity for parents to meet subject specific teachers to discuss the available GCSE courses in more detail.
Each subject will have their own ‘stall’ at the Options Event that parents and students can visit. No appointments need to be made, please visit the event at a time convenient to you between 4:00pm and 6:30pm. The event will finish at 6:30pm.
Selecting chosen option pathways
The options booklet with further subject information and learning pathways for you to read and discuss with your child is available to view on our school website – https://www.nlconline.org.uk/netherhall-learning-campus-high-school/for-students/year-8-options-/
Students will then be given the opportunity to select their option pathways, the deadline for this will be Thursday 2nd February 2023 at 3pm. The options form will be available at the event and will also be given to students in Tutor Time.
Completed options forms should be handed directly to tutors.
Careers Information
We will have our careers advisor, Sarah Timberley available at the event to offer any guidance and support in terms of potential future career pathways, this can include requirements for colleges, apprenticeships, university courses and employment opportunities; in addition we will have a number of local Post 16 providers at the Options Event for you to speak to.
