Year 10 Work Experience – Important Information for Parents/Carers

Further to previous communications this is a reminder that our Year 10 students will shortly be taking part in Work Experience Week, which is a valuable opportunity for them to gain insight into the world of work, develop key employability skills, and explore potential career paths.
Work Experience Week Details
  • Dates: 9th June 2025 to 13th June 2025
  • Location: Students attend placements at a range of local businesses and organisations. Details can be found on Unifrog
What You Need to Know
  • Placement Confirmation: If your child has not yet secured a placement, please support them in doing so as soon as possible.
  • Employer Confirmation: Once a placement has been secured, the student adds it to Unifrog and this needs to then be confirmed by the employers with all insurance and risk assessments completed.
  • Parental Consent : Once this is complete a  consent form will be sent via Unifrog to parents and must be digitally signed by 2nd June.
  • Health & Safety: All placements will be checked for appropriate insurance and risk assessments. Students will also receive a briefing on workplace expectations and safety.
  • Travel & Attendance: Students are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from the placement. They are expected to attend every day and follow the working hours agreed with their employer.
  • Dress Code & Conduct: Students should dress appropriately for their placement and behave in a professional manner at all times. ( any specialist items will be detailed on Unifrog)
How You Can Support
  • Talk to your child about their placement and what they hope to learn.
  • Help them prepare by discussing workplace etiquette, punctuality, and communication.
  • Ensure they have the necessary clothing or equipment for their role.
  • If there are any barriers in place impacting on your child being able to attend a placement please do get in touch to see how we can support.
We believe this experience will be a significant step in your child’s personal and professional development. Thank you for your continued support in making this a successful and rewarding opportunity.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact school.
