Why Study Hair and Beauty?

If you love experimenting with new hair styles, obsessing over the latest fashion trends and want to make people look their best, the hair and beauty industry needs you! Studying the VTCT in Hair and Beauty therapy will give you the knowledge, practical experience and creativity to progress into becoming a top quality stylist. Where you will play an important role in promoting body confidence, self-esteem and making people feel good about themselves.

This course lays the foundations for you to go on to post 16 study and specialse in the sector you are passionate about.

What you will Learn on the course

2. Anatomy, physiology and cosmetic science

3. Design in the hair and beauty sector

How you will be assessed

You will complete two assessments at the end of Year 11.

1. A portfolio of coursework worth 60% of the qualification

2. A Written exam worth 40% of the qualification

Future plans

You can continue on to Level 3 in Hair dressing or Media Make-Up & SFX at The Creative & Media Studio School, college or apply for an apprenticeship.
